We are the married couple Nelson ‘Javi’ Navarro Zayas & Gladysbeth Ortiz González, and we run NNZ Photography & Video. With over 20 years combined experience, we strive to provide the highest quality of service in the photography industry, especially in weddings.
About Nelson "Javi" Navarro
Destination Wedding Photographer
I was introduced to photography when I was a little boy, thanks to my father, an excellent amateur photographer. However, it wasn’t until about 16 years ago that I started getting involved in the photographic world.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the PUCPR and a Commercial Photographer Degree from Centro Sor Isolina Ferré. I’ve been a restaurant manager, a network cable installer, network desk support technician and have been working on and off in graphic design since 2002, which led me to photography.
When I purchased my first DSLR in 2006, I knew some basic photographic concepts thanks to my father and another photographer friend. My formal photography education came in 2012-2013 when I graduated from Centro Sor Isolina Ferre’s Digital Commercial Photography course. Still, mainly I’ve been self-taught by reading, practicing, and taking lectures and workshops with renowned photographers like Carlos Torres Luna (Master Photographer), Noel del Pilar, and others.
My wife has been a motivational and inspirational agent in my life, and she assists and supports me in every wedding we go to photograph. I still consider myself a young, full of energy, and happy person who can capture or create great moments at a wedding.
I acquired the prestigious Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) Certificate from Professional Photographers of America (PPA), making me a better professional photographer each day.
About Gladysbeth
Photography Assistant & Second Photographer
I graduated from the administrative assistant program of the University of Puerto Rico. I’ve been working in this profession for the past years. I met my husband Javi in 2016, and that same year I started assisting him on his wedding shoots. I quickly fell in love with the high-paced, high-energy ambiance of the wedding day. I also love and enjoy meeting new people and interacting with them, and even helping to make sure that their special day goes along smoothly. I’ve become an essential part of our team and ensure to take care of every little detail. Along the way, I’ve learned to photograph, essentially becoming a 2nd shooter who captures different angles during wedding ceremonies.

Our Mission
Since high quality service is our priority, throughout the years, we’ve not only been photographers on a wedding day, we’ve been clothes menders, tension calmers, “psychologists”, coordinators, room service providers, flower carriers, waiters, couriers, and even the groom’s chauffeur.
In summary, although our main job is to make awesome photos that will remain as your memories forever, we try to make sure that we do everything that’s in our power to ensure your wedding day is a memorable one. We really enjoy this and everytime we think about this, it brings a smile to our faces.
